Fountain Monumento alla solidarietà (Alla libertà) by Ireneo Janni
In Piazza Marconi, the main square of the city located in the heart of the splendid seafront of Silvi Marina, you can admire a wonderful bromnze sculpture, designed and built by the master Ireneo Janni, a multifaceted local artist of international renown: Monumento alla solidarietà (Alla libertà) (Monument to Solidarity -To freedom).
The bronze sculptural group represents a scene characterized by a strong evocative power: a flying angel saves a fisherman in danger, taking him out of the water. Six meters high, the artistic composition is aerial, characterized by a great plasticity and lightness of the forms.
The natural scenery of the sea in the background behind the statue becomes an integral part of the work itself.
The monument is completed by a monumental fountain, made up of a large basin with five basins of different heights which act as a pedestal for the imposing central bronze sculpture.
The monument and the fountain were designed by the artist Ireneo Janni as a single work, which integrates sculptural, architectural and landscape elements in a single artistic context. The square where the monument stands has become an important reference point for the local community and a meeting place for tourists and visitors, who can admire the work and enjoy the suggestive atmosphere of the coastal town of Silvi Marina.
