Church of San Silvestre
The church of San Silvestre stands on a luxuriant hill with a splendid view on the sea, in the hamlet of the same name. It is popularly called the "Trinity Church". The first construction of the Church of San Silvestro in Silvi dates back to 1560. Subsequently demolished due to structural problems, the structure was rebuilt over the centuries and modernized in the 20th century.
Its main facade has a symmetrical appearance and has a coloured plaster surface finish. The entrance portal is characterized by volutes in relief and is framed by a rose window with an indented circumference. The church also has a belfry decorated with the same motif as the facade and a miniature of the sky attachment in a tympanum version.
Inside, the church has a single nave with a flat ceiling and an apse consisting of a square-shaped room covered with a sail. There are two windows on each side of the apse and two arched openings on the longitudinal walls. The floor of the church is made up of square-mesh tiles laid diagonally in a two-tone red and off-white pattern. The altar is decorated with an aedicule with a seventeenth-century fresco depicting the Assunzione di Maria.
The building preserves a valuable wooden group of refined artistic craftsmanshiprepresenting the Santa Trinità.
The Church of San Silvestro has been designed to welcome the faithful in a peaceful environment. Its simple and elegant architecture, together with its panoramic position on the hills, makes it an ideal destination for tourists who want to discover the artistic and religious beauties of the area.
